REQUIREMENT 2: Stamping
Stamping is a common and fun decorating technique. Create your own stamps using vegetables. Use your stamps to print designs on colored paper using paint. Experiment with making the shapes into animals, people, or other designs by stamping or adding colored pen markings after stamping.
- Bag of Carrots

- Hammermill White Cardstock 8.5” x 11” (110 lb.), 200 Sheets
- Cut white cardstock into 2” x 2.75” pieces (yields 16 pieces per sheet).
- Cut the ends off each carrot and slice into chunks for a variety of circle sizes.
- Show the animal images provided to give everyone ideas on what they can create.
- Open ink pads or place a dollop of paint in desired colors on paper plates.
- Have the girls dip the carrot ends in the ink or paint and stamp it on the white cardstock.
- Let dry and then add details with an Ultra-fine Sharpie marker.
The cardstock size described was chosen so the images can be used for the Pen and Paper Arts Optional Activity 5: Make 6 Greeting Cards.
