During her first year, I was an Assistant Unit leader and boy was I overwhelmed for the first three months. After the craziness of the holidays passed  I pledged to dive into her handbook and AHGConnect (noe AHGFamily) to learn all I could about the program so I could better assist the Unit Leader.

My daughter Katelyn joined American Heritage Girls Troop MD0414  as a first-year Explorer and we are having a blast growing spiritually and emotionally while collecting lots of fun badges along the way.

The timing was perfect because later that year we ended up living in our motor home for six months as we fulfilled a life-long dream of a cross-country tour where we visited 33 states. We were able to do so many badges on our own through the unique opportunity we were experiencing throughout our country.

When we returned I decided to start this blog so I could share the many wonderful resources  I found and/or developed to help other AHG Parents or Unit Leaders working on badges.
